Kuaiya Game Boost Test: Latency Compared
'Latency of 60 versus 30 makes no difference in normal scenarios, but in an FPS it's life or death.' We tested Kuaiya on three major online games for seven consecutive days, recording latency before and after acceleration.
Game latency depends on physical distance, carrier routing and server load. On a direct connection, packets often detour across multiple backbone lines — more hops mean more latency. Kuaiya's game lines aim to 'straighten' this path by optimizing routes and reducing hops.
Test Method: Seven Days, Three Games
We chose three representative games: a competitive shooter, a large MMORPG and a real-time strategy game. The environment was 500 Mbps home broadband, recording latency three times a day — morning, noon and evening — for seven days, then averaging.
All tests used Kuaiya's 'Game Line' nodes targeting official game servers, with direct connection latency as the baseline.
Results: Average 58% Latency Reduction
Data shows the shooter's direct latency averaged 172ms, dropping to 41ms with Kuaiya; the MMORPG fell from 210ms to 55ms; the RTS from 158ms to 38ms. Average reduction across the three games hit 58%.
Stability mattered even more. During the test, Kuaiya's latency jitter standard deviation was just 3.2ms, versus 21ms on direct connections. That means the screen no longer 'stutters', and inputs feel more responsive.
Player Feedback
Beyond the numbers, player experience is more convincing. A three-year competitive player said: 'Last-hitting on foreign servers was always half a beat late; with Kuaiya latency is steady around 40 and I can finally execute plays.' A streamer reported no dropped frames while broadcasting.
