On August 20, Kuaiya rolled out version 3.8.2 with 12 new optimized nodes covering Tokyo, Seoul and Frankfurt. Official test data shows overall connection speed improved by 18% on average.

Kuaiya v3.8.2 release notes

The update was driven by a month of user feedback. Summer traffic surged and some nodes became congested at peak hours; Kuaiya's monitoring recorded notable latency swings on Tokyo and Seoul nodes. The ops team adjusted deployment strategy and decided to expand in East Asia first.

12 New Nodes, Focused on East Asia

Of the 12 new nodes, 6 sit in Tokyo, 2 in Seoul, 2 in Singapore, and 2 on the US West Coast. These choices came from Kuaiya's traffic heatmap — over the past 90 days, East Asia accounted for 58% of connection requests, the densest zone of user demand.

All new nodes connect to Kuaiya's dedicated network with the latest forwarding protocol. Official tests show median latency of 26ms on the new Tokyo node and 31ms on Seoul, improving 9% and 12% over the old ones.

Where Does 18% Come From

The 18% figure comes from a standardized test, not marketing. Kuaiya ran a three-day A/B test before and after the update, covering 20 cities and 3,000 users, measuring median download speed. It rose from 71 Mbps to 84 Mbps — about 18%.

Three factors drove the gain: new nodes eased load on old ones, the dedicated protocol got forwarding efficiency tweaks, and load-balancing strategy was adjusted. Together they made peak-hour experience improve the most.

User Feedback and Upgrade Advice

The rollout drew positive feedback. A Shanghai user wrote: '8pm peak finally stops buffering, watched 4K video with zero stutter.' A Beijing gamer reported Tokyo node latency dropped from 45ms to 28ms.

Kuaiya recommends upgrading to v3.8.2 for a better experience. Open the client, click 'Check for updates', or free download the latest Kuaiya.
